Glassblowing

A “sub skill” for the Alchemy Skill. Only a Grandmaster Alchemist (100 skill points in Alchemy) can become a Glassblower. To learn this craft, a GM Alchemist must read the book “Crafting Glass with Glassblowing” which can be purchased from Gargoyle Alchemists in the Royal City of Ter Mur. The book costs 10,637 gold and disappears upon reading it, but the knowledge gained is with you forever. There are no skill points used to learn this craft.

Once learning the craft, a Blow Pipe and Sand is needed. The blow pipe is a tool that can only be bought from the same Gargoyle Alchemists as the book. It does wear out in time, so more will be needed. Sand is acquired by digging with the Mining Skill in sandy areas with a Pickaxe or Shovel.

Finally, the glassblower needs to be next to a Forge of some type. The heat from the forge will melt the sand into molten glass and the blowpipe is then used to shape the molten glass. To begin, double click the blowpipe and the Glassblowing gump will appear. Then select the item you wish to craft.

Historical Fact: Prior to the discovery of Ter Mur, the only Gargoyles with Glassblowing and Masonry knowledge were in Ilshenar in the city of Ver Lor Reg. This city was destroyed during The Awakening story arc.
